(Grandma Barabara and Megan age 5)

My food preparation education started at a very young age. I always watched and helped my grandmother make elaborate birthday cakes, holiday pies and every kind of cookie imaginable. She was a true genesis in the kitchen and my desserts are inspired by all the time spent helping her.

My journey into raw food started in Boulder CO. I was attending the university there and after a very enlightening anthropology lecture I became vegetarian overnight. After graduation, I headed to CA for the beach and warm weather. By chance, I moved across the street from Juliano's raw restaurant in Santa Monica. After one meal, I was dedicated to learning more about the raw lifestyle and luckily Juliano decided to hire me. In the beginning, I read every book on raw food and nutrition I could find. I bought all the tools needed to make all the elaborate meals and I began to experiment. I returned to my roots and began to create chocolate and dessert recipes.

I am a certified raw food instructor and have been formally trained at the Tree of Life. I am currently studying to receive my Masters degree in raw vegan nutrition and for years now, I have been working to create the most delicious and healthy junk food ever!
